Paulina Padilla,

LCSW

I am so glad you are here. I always feel honored to be a part of every client’s journey, so I am happy to share with you a little more about me and my experience. To share about my background, I am a proud Mexican, who was born and raised in Southern California. I am bilingual and bicultural and feel so proud to be able to serve clients in Spanish, as well as being culturally competent in my work. I am married and have 3 kids, 17, 15 and 10. My cultural background and my family are the things in my life that inspire me to grow and pursue the work that I do.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and my education has consisted of a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Social Work. The first 10 years of my career I spent in community mental health. Community mental health has been a great teacher, a place that allowed me to find great mentors, wonderful peers, and allowed me to see and serve the complex mental health needs of our Latino community, a community that I too belong to.  I am grateful that I have continued my work in community mental health, but now as a supervisor.

Making the leap from being a therapist in community mental health to a therapist in private practice was truly a leap of faith.  I had a vision that I could serve mothers in need of support and be part of their healing journey, starting with their pregnancies through the remaining stages of motherhood. I envisioned helping families to nurture their strengths and resilience. I also have committed time and energy to continue my education and training, and did this by training in parent education that focused on raising children with nonviolence and trauma informed ways to support healing from trauma.

It has been an important goal of mine to provide  trauma informed space that would help women and families have a sense of hope.
